Emergency Trap Drive
Dear Fabulous Friend of Felines:
Stray Cat Alliance is currently receiving a record number of calls from
people wanting to borrow traps in order to get strays spayed or neutered.
This is great – people are getting involved! But it's also bad – because of
the 280 traps we have, ALL are in use.
We have long lists of people waiting to borrow traps, especially for our
high volume free spay/neuter clinics.
What this means, sadly, is that cats are not being trapped, and they're
getting
pregnant and having kittens.
So we are having an "emergency" trap drive.
Each trap costs roughly $59. On average, each SCA trap assists in trapping 15 cats per month, or 180 cats per year. If half of those cats are females who have 2 litters per year with 4 surviving kittens each, that's 720 kittens per year!
In other words, your donation of just $59 could literally save thousands of lives over the next few years. Wow, you say? Yes, wow.
We need to raise enough money to buy 100 more traps which amounts to $5900.
